It was one of those days where the wind was bending himself all out of shape. As though his back had a kink and he needed to do all possible calisthenics to relieve the disordered joint.

Katie didn’t mind.

It made the tall pines bend their regal spires as though desiring a more poetic viewpoint of the sky and the grasses waved in graceful motions as though desirous of following in the wave laps (in lieu of footsteps) of the ocean.

These were the days she liked best.

Days when the sun would descend gently to the waiting horizon tossing a confetti of honey-like dew across every hill and rock-strewn path.

Days when glittering diamonds of jeweled pinks and opals hues would tumble and rush over the pounding curl of each wave.

And days when she could run across the fields and twirl over the sandy beach and dwell in awe of The Creator of this world.

And He …was her Friend.
