A man under intense pressure.

A heart that perhaps was wrestling.

Not entirely mocking …not entirely blind to what was right.

“Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?” (vs.33)

A hall of judgment.

Where the created was to judge The Creator.

“Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?” (vs.34)

Of thyself.

When we ask God questions, when we speak words of truth or wrestle over lies …what are we speaking from? Our own convictions or those of others? Our own understanding, or the understanding of God?

Where is our truth coming from?

And this man after hearing Jesus’ answers …a man under intense pressure, still wrestled, like many men and women today.

Perhaps he continued to question so that he might avoid acknowledging the reality of what was really true. Perhaps the love of the world was on the other side of the rope in the tug of war over this man’s soul.

What is the truth to you?
