Sending a warm welcome to you, friend! Whether you’ve known of me and my art for years or are just getting to know me …welcome!! It’s a blessing to have you here.

Who am I? Where did I come from? What do I do? Perhaps you’re curious …or perhaps you’re simply eager to see more art! :) Either way, I hope this post sharing a bit about me brightens your day.

I’m Melissa Thomsen, an artist living in Northeast Ohio. The Jacie part of my business name comes from my middle name (Melissa Jacie Thomsen)! You could say I was born with the proverbial pencil-in-the-hand, as I enjoyed art from a young age. Something that greatly affected my journey as an artist was when, in 2014 at the age of 21, I attended the Lamplighter Guild. There I met an artist named Lisa Mistiuk who soon became my long distance art mentor! Learning with her greatly aided my skills and I am a better artist today because of it! So blessed.

However my art journey has not been without its challenges and yet it is a good training ground for growing me and helping me in my faith. I am a child of God and that is my greatest worth. Do you know Him? He is wonderful! And so good to us. I hope you do.

If ever you want to talk about Him, or have a question, please don’t hesitate to reach out. It would be my honor to share more with you!

A door that God has graciously and mercifully opened to me recently within my art journey, is the opportunity to collaborate with Kelly Stickle @kellyhavensohio! This is an incredible gift and I hope to take you along on part of the journey as I continue to create artwork from her pictures. Join me, will you?

And thank-you for being here. Thank-you deeply for your support. Every share, save and comment is an underserved gift.

Would you be willing to help me get to know you better too? What is a favorite verse for you? What intrigued you to follow or visit me here? Tell me about your day …how can I be praying for you? Please share …I’m listening! :)

P.S. This is a piece in my sketchbook that I did awhile ago! And while I’m not usually in my studio in the morning, it can be pretty with the natural light!

Reminders. We all need them. Reminders to remember what is true. Reminders to remember what our calling is. Reminders to remember that life is more than sadness, trouble, frivilous things or a fleeting moment of earthly happiness. I pray that these illustrations will become reminders of the truth in your heart and home for years to come.

They always said it that way.

Sarah could hear the pointed words as though she had witnessed them visually before her, written in jerky strokes of agitation.

Like a glittering coat of watery diamonds, a sheet of rain threw itself against the window next to Jacyln. Water smeared into stallions of transparent strength, burrowing fierce rivers into jagged lines across her sight. How she longed to bury her face right into that pane and let her tears mix with that ongoing torrent of wild water.
