If you relate (and even if you don’t, but would love some encouragement), here’s a thought for your day …
πThe problem *needs* to be mountain-sized.
In other words, it needs to be *God-sized*, for God-sized work. If it was human-sized, where and how would we need God? And ultimately, where does faith fit and where does the divine beauty of the Spirit’s power have space to work?
God really doesn’t intend for us to go forward into His work without Him. Thus, He can have us walk into problems that are wayyyy too big for our capabilities–but not for His.
Because, after all, it is *His* work.
If we have joined ourselves to Him, why are we surprised when He sends or allows mountains that are *His* size, into our paths?
Like the giant that David went face to face with–everyone else was focused on their own strength, but David saw the unseen …he knew who God was and who that giant was and who was the greater one between the two. Isn’t that neat?
In fact, he dwelt so deeply in the unseen that he fired up over the giant’s blatant defiance against the people of God. *David knew* the God whom this giant was defying. And in that power and strength coming from that divine knowledge …he demolished that stronghold.
𧑔For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV
𧑔And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” Hebrews 11:32-34 KJV
𧑔for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27b KJV
These heroes of the faith …they lived in the unseen sight. They were unlimited–despite their human capability, because they fully believed in a limitless God.
No mountain was or is, too big.
You see, it’s *true* that we only have so much capability on the human level …have you ever read or seen a story where it looks like someone did something great, but in reality, there was someone above them that did the real work? See, that’s what God does with us too. When we balk at a big mountain, it makes total sense. Of course we can’t cross that. But God can. And so, if we just lean into Him and listen for His directions for our steps, He’ll care for the rest. Beautiful!!
And bam! Down the mountain will come.
π”Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 KJV
He splits seas, raises the dead, sends incredible prophetic visions, does great things in ordinary places and ultimately–does all things well!
π”And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well:” Mark 7:37a KJV
π“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:” Jeremiah 32:17 KJV
π”For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37 KJV
Thank you for this good word. It’s timeliness is no coincidence. Thank you for the reminder as I have some mountains that need to be moved. β₯
Thank-you so much for this sweet and encouraging note, Jenn!! A blessing. I’ll pray that God might move those mountains quickly for you!!
