Hello, friends! It’s truly been a long time–over a year since I’ve really said “hello” on this dear, dusty, art blog! How are you all doing? I hope to get this website spruced up a bit and start posting a little more regularly. ;) If you have any ideas or wishes for what you’d like to see on here, please don’t hesitate to let me know! Would you like more paper dolls? Art tips? More stories to read? More artwork? Let me know in the comments or send me an e-mail!
Also, an exciting development that has happened recently, is that I’ve decided to start offering an online art mentorship to ladies ages 15 and up! You can check over here for more details!
She returns!! :-)
Yes! Yay!!
This drawing is darling, Melissa. I love how you’ve handled the fingers–I keep intending to spend time doing studies of hands. Also love the folds and creases in the fabric. See? You’ve used broken lines in the gathers at the neckline!!! I need to practice! :)
Now, just one question, do you draw these completely from your head or do you use a photograph as a point of reference?
Art tips are fun for me. :) And I’m sure we all love seeing your artwork.
Thank-you for your encouraging comment, Hannah! You are so kind. I’m glad you like the sketch! It depends what artwork you’re talking about. I do work both ways! :) And I’m glad to know you like the art tips. Hope to post more in the future! :)
Just yesterday my daughter and I were telling a friend about your lovely paper dolls! In fact, my daughter is coloring some now. She would love to have more paper dolls that you draw. They are so ladylike and pretty.
Thank-you for your encouraging comment, Beth! And thank-you for sharing about the paper dolls with a friend. :) I’m glad to know you would like more paper dolls. Hopefully there will be more in the future!
